BVGEC wins the 2022 Co-op Innovation Award at the ACCA Co-op Awards

The Alberta Community Cooperative Association (ACCA) is excited to recognize excellence in the co-op sector through the ACCA Co-op Awards, hosted on November 2. as part of the Gathering 2022, which brought co-operators and allies together to meet, share information, and discuss how to make Western Canada the best place on earth for co-operatives. 

BVGEC is the proud recipient of the 2022 Co-operative Innovation Award.

This award recognises an individual or organization for innovative programs or initiatives that promote co-op principle five – education, training, and information, delivered to members in new and exciting ways.

BVGEC was recognised for its innovative work in the community generation space. Our unique Microgeneration business model allowed BVGEC to be the first community generator in Alberta to install and electrify a community-funded renewable energy project in September of 2021 at the Ralph Conner Memorial United Church in Canmore.
