BVGEC - Nov 2021 - Get Involved!
It is time to get involved, become a Changemaker today!
Have a few hours to volunteer? We are looking for a few people to help with the following projects:
Lead our fundraising team: Search and recommend grant opportunities, connect with funders on prospective grants, help write grant proposals and reports.
Community Host Laison: connect with potential host properties interested in completing a renewable energy project with BVGEC.
Looking for something else? Take our volunteer survey:
Our volunteers and board committee have been hard at work in the following areas:
The Finance and Administration team is working on an Offering Memorandum document to allow Members to invest in BVGEC.
The Communications and Promotions team has started planning the advertising for 2022 for our new energy marketing arm.
We have made a start on scheduling our 2022 Friend, Member, Investor and Host Marketing. Check out News Reel to see some of the Membership advertising we have created in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Outlook.
The Governance team is helping to prepare new investor communication to explain BVGEC’s pursuit of the energy marketing business with UtilityNet. The explanation will describe: (i) the business opportunity; (ii) how it fits into the cooperative’s mission; (iii) how it is expected to support BVGEC’s administrative overhead as we move through our early ramp-up of installing generating assets; and the steps we are taking to manage any risk associated with the marketing business.
The Membership and Stakeholder Engagement team is managing our Investor engagement process and building out our member engagement. We currently have 55 Members and 29 Friends. If you know of anyone who might be interested in joining BVGEC as a Friend, Member or Investor, please take a moment to share who we are and what we are doing with them!
The membership team is still working to build volunteer support teams around our committees and has completed a proposal for the integration of a Customer Relations Management database and other tools to manage member relations and community engagement strategies.
The Fundraising team is waiting to hear back about several grant funding applications submitted recently. Watch this space for exciting updates!
The Technology and Business Development committee has been pursuing various financing options for installing new generation facilities, and is excited about all the new project development opportunities that keep arising.
The Energy Marketing team lead has investigated the opportunity of utilising Renewable Energy Credits and Carbon Credits as an additional revenue stream for BVGEC.
Thanks, everyone, for helping us choose a fancy new logo for our developing energy marketing arm - Rocky Mountain Community Energy!
The contract with Utility Net has been reviewed and signed by the board of directors, watch this space for updates on how to get involved in early 2022!
The Project Development committee has received two new applications to our Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) received from EVOLVsolar and Newo Energy, a non-profit indigenous social enterprise in the renewable energy industry, These are under evaluation.
Stay connected!
