BVGEC celebrates the anniversary of Alberta's first community-funded solar project!

BVGEC's first project, the Ralph Connor Memorial United Church, has marked one year of power generation!

In the span of its first year, the RCMUC project has offset 8.2 Tonnes of C02, generated 11.7MWH, and provided 100% of the church's energy consumption!

The success of the project is monitored on an ongoing basis, utilizing dashboards that display the real-time performance of each individual panel in five-minute intervals. The dashboards allow BVGEC and Kuby Renewable Energy Ltd to understand when the most energy is produced and if something is going wrong.

The momentous occasion was celebrated on September 17th with a BBQ at RCMUC, where there was plenty of talk about the success of the project, as well as all that is on the horizon for BVGEC.

Watch this short video detailing the success of this project!

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. An even bigger thank you to these organisations who generously supported our event. We couldn't have done it without you!
