BAYMAG Power Purchase Agreement signed!

Bow Valley Green Energy Co-op partners with  Baymag, Exshaw and KCP Energy to advance solar energy generation!

The Bow Valley Green Energy Co-op, Baymag and KCP Energy are thrilled to announce that they have reached an agreement on the financing, installation and operation of the largest ever solar array in the MD of Bighorn.

Recently, the three organizations signed agreements to initiate, build and energize a 291 kW photovoltaic system on the rooftop of one of the process buildings at Baymag’s operation near Exshaw.

Jim Bachmann, Vice President Operations for Baymag, says “Following our recent expansion project which reduced our overall carbon intensity, this solar panel project is another big commitment for our business, for the environment, and for the communities in which we live, work, and play.”

Geoff Domenico, President of KCP Energy, says "This has been a special project to be a part of as it is truly a made in the Bow Valley solution. It's also encouraging to see large organizations such as Baymag demonstrate real climate leadership by being the driving force behind realizing this project".

Jeff Roberts, President of Bow Valley Green Energy Cooperative, says “ This project is our third step on a scalable journey to reach 1 Megawatt of community-funded renewable energy capacity by the end of 2025. BVGEC is pleased to be working with Baymag in their journey to reduce their carbon footprint.”
